BLACKLIGHT (M) Review by Rohan Carr
When Travis Block (Liam Neeson) discovers a shadowy program called Operation Unity is striking down ordinary members of the public for reasons only known to Block's boss and head of the FBI, he enlists the help of a journalist. However, Block's past and present collide when his daughter and granddaughter are threatened.
For those who like Liam Neeson playing the hero then they will not be disappointed (even at 30 thousand feet and on a small airline screen). There are plenty of car chases, explosions and the odd shooting or 10!
The plot is a little weak and lacks real depth. It seems like the director was in a hurry to finish the film as the ending left the watcher wondering how we got there so quickly. Nevertheless, the screenplay between Block and his granddaughter is sweet and of course, the good guys always win.
A good film to pass the time if you want something with plenty of action, nothing too deep and under 2 hours in length.
